Carbon Neutral Dilmah

Following calculations of Dilmah’s carbon footprint, Dilmah Tea has pledged to accomplish Carbon Neutrality by 2017, a milestone which will mark net zero carbon emissions by proactive reductions and offsetting its CO2 emissions. Dilmah Conservation has taken many steps towards initiating this goal with the inclusion of applying Biochar in all of Dilmah’s tea estates as well as installing 2 solar power plants at Dilmah Tea Headquarters in Peliyagoda, Sri Lanka.
Steps are also being taken to establish more renewable energy sources including hydropower stations and wind turbines towards achieving this goal. Dilmah is actively working towards reducing, recycling and upcycling its waste as well. Environmental initiatives taken by Dilmah Conservation are also instrumental in helping Dilmah attain Carbon Neutral status.
