The Report conforms to the sustainability reporting guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards issued by the Global Sustainability Standards Board (GSSB).

Information relating to sustainability is prepared “In Accordance– Core” of the GRI Standards. The GRI index is available from page 75 to 77. The Greenhouse Gas Protocol developed by World Resources Institute (WRI), World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and ISO 14064 standard (published in 2006) is part of the ISO 14000 series of International Standards for environmental management, has been used to measure and report on the carbon footprint of the organization.

The content of the report covers the economic, social and environmental activities of the period, supported and illustrated by relevant data and statistics.


The report relates to the activities of Dilmah Ceylon Tea Company PLC, over a 12-month period ending 31st March 2017 and is consistent with our usual annual reporting cycle for financial and sustainability reporting.

There have been no changes in the reporting scope and/ or boundaries from the previous year. Non-financial information in this report pertaining to the previous year has not been restated, unless otherwise stated.
