Dear Merril J. Fernando

Unfortunately, my only (theoretical) contact to you is via your son Dilhan or via Gerald de Silva.
Eventually, you may read this via one of them.

In the midst of the global Corona crisis, you have your 90th Birthday.
Just a couple of weeks ago, I had my 50 th , we differ exactly 40 years. So, we both know how to go
through many digital and virtual messages, instead of celebrating with friends and family in real life.
It is really not the same, but it is what it is. I feel really sorry for you..

On the other side, due to Corona or maybe due to the round number of age, we also get many
emails or messages from people. Some from friends who are locked-in, some from people we didn’t
see for a long time or some we even hardly remember anymore.
It is a personal belief, that while we are now writing and reading each other, we express and feel a
glimpse of the other and exchange the energy of thoughts and intention; to create some small
moment of togetherness or even ‘oneness’.

You are, by physical law, in the final stages of human life. To me and many others you initiated
remarkable and positive changes in the tea industry all over the globe. And by doing so, you have
inspired and gathered many people to think differently about tea, but also how to define wellbeing
and how to see real beauty in nature. Let us pray that due to the coronacrisis, even more human
beings will transcend into a more integrated and ethical way of living and behaving.

Dear Merril Fernando. In February 2020 I was lucky and grateful to feel your oneness heart, when
you spoke to us, the silence in the room was vibrant on a deep sincere level.

It is my sincere wish that the positivitea that you have spread to all in this life come back to you on
this day. Wishing you a very happy 90th birthday!
