A Sri Lankan family tea firm is challenging multinational company hold of the global tea industry. Dilmah has become the 3rd largest global tea brand but has turned away from mass-market blends, instead it chooses to grow and market its own tea direct to consumers around the world.

My good friend, Merrill and I, shared many years doing business together and our meetings over those years were invariably marked by most enjoyable social occasions.

Most recently I was delighted to note that one of our most prestigious Universities had chosen to bestow a high honour upon him. Such honours are highly merited for his great success and the drive which has led to the creation of a great Company distinguished for its standards of perfection but also for its demonstration of the need for philanthropy in business and an unfailing loyalty to the Country in which it is based and to its people, especially those in need of the support which will assist in the enrichment of their own lives.
